Not always. I'm responsible for Valentine's in this house. Admittedly, that's not the norm everywhere else; it's just what we worked out for us. It actually makes things easier, I think. We're not always stepping on each other's toes trying to make plans for the same day.

It's not all about chocolate and flowers.

My girlfriend went as far as to write what she wanted on my forehead while I was asleep a few years ago.

I would do this, except we work at the same place. Needless to say, it would be somewhat awkward.
Of course, I got the old brick-to-the-head hint "I like coffee better than flowers," so 3 pounds of coffee is set to be delivered to our place very soon.

I think I have reached the conclusion that I will buy myself a slurpee... *sigh* I hate me.
If you excuse me I want to go sob and cuddle with my sonic plushy.
Actualy I saw this awesome Gamakichi thing the other day, I am totaly going to buy it and brag to all my friends about having one. Thank goodness Vancouver has so many Japanese stores, I may also pick up the Naruto soundtracks for myself. Valentines day is not looking too bad for me this year.

I never got the whole point of flowers...for any reason (this is mrs swehurn BTW)...It's always seemed kind of odd to me. "I love you so much...here's some flowers"..."ummm gee thanks..you love me so much you're giving me something that dies?"....I'm reminded of the devil from the movie the prophecy when he sings "But like all true love, one day it withered on the vine." Personally I think a plant or a tree of some sort would be a better idea...that way you can keep it for the long term. Maybe that's just me though.

Well, it came in! All the way from Japan, none-the-less o_O
I gotta admit - it's rather adorable.
Its tail was a cute bonus.
And as another bonus, or oddity, rather, was the fact that amoungst the butt-load of peanuts to keep it safe from being bashed around inside the box, it came wrapped in newspaper.. Japanese newspaper.
So, not only does my baby get a cute lil Totoro for v-day (along with the usual chocolates and flowers), I get a lil treasure myself - newspaper from around the world o_O
Any one else gonna show off their goodies? :P
(that sounds so wrong)
